A Look Inside "The Eras Tour"

So, I am a self-proclaimed Swiftie. I have been following her career since we were both 16, from the release of “Tim McGraw” to seeing her live in Cleveland at her “Reputation” tour, to being one of the thousands of fans who could not get tickets to “The Eras Tour,” and finally getting to see an edited version of her massive tour in theaters. Next best thing right?

Naturally, I was able to find a lot of infographics, detailing everything from her relationships, to how long it takes her to write specific songs, to her awards, to the most recent data on “The Eras Tour.”

But I landed on the following: “The Eras Tour: Taylor Swift's Concert & Movie Sales Soar” from:

Let’s take a look at this infographic. I think it is pretty clear and concise, there is not too much information being displayed, it’s not cluttered, and I can easily move my eyes from one piece of information to another without getting lost or confused.

This graphic, “Key figures from Taylor Swift's 'The Eras Tour,'” does just what it set out to do: give us the straight forward facts. It takes a look at how many concerts (146 dates, 5 continents) have been announced to date, estimated ticket sales per U.S. concert night ($13M) with an average of 72,000 attendees at each of those concerts, and a whopping $2.2B in sales in North America alone.

The graphic then tackles The Tour movie, with the latest information coming in just 3 days before the film was released: $100M+ in global presales, shown in 8,500 cinemas, in more than 100 countries.

This is very effectively displayed because of the clarity. The infographic focuses on the live tour itself on the top half of the graphic, and then looks in on the film on the lower half. This makes it very easy to read. That, and it is organized from left to right, which is how we read, so it grabs your eyes and directs them to where the infographic wants them.

This infographic seems very reliable, as a more in-depth search on the internet on my part, leads to no data inaccuracies.

Improvement wise, I wish they could have gotten permission for a photo outside of Wikipedia and one that showed her performing during “The Eras Tour.” Other than that, I really like this infographic and I think it relays a good set of statistics.
